4/23/2026 for A Mother Figure - Picture Prompt Poetry Contest sponsored by Suzette Richards
Your poor mother left earth when you were small. She's like a fairy godmother from a star. Her true essence visits, though you can't recall her earthly form, out of reach and so far. Yet, if she's a fairy, she isn't real - maybe she didn't die but left you instead. So, you avoid the sadness that you might feel, but for the false mother who lives in your head.
