Dream Life
It was about 2:30 in the morning,
as I began to stumble off to bed.
Then heard the thunder rolling,
when a thought jumped in my head.
Realizing in my dreams,
that it never rains or pours.
Also never reach for door knobs,
when walking through closed doors.
As I wondered about all the other things,
that I never see in my dreams.
Like never cutting grass,
or ever trimming trees?
Never stopping for gas,
while traveling in a car.
Never see long distances,
but only just so far?
Never see any clocks,
or the sun, moon or stars.
Also never notice,
any of the makes of cars?
I'm never reading books,
or writing poetry.
Nothing of every day life,
do I ever see in my dreams.
