Dream
Awoke to feel, I dreamt that deadly sigh
The flooding came but I believe I’m dry
The earth shook, but I still think I’m high
I told myself that I still have my ways
I still deny that they are dying every day
I walk and breathe, the darkness makes me stay
Awoke today, I crossed the desert plain
There are no more lies, there’s no more games
I felt today, I know were all the same
When was it born, the hate that took our eyes?
We were at peace, until darkness took our minds
I fall to death in knowing I’m too blind
Reaching tomorrow will take me further home
My anger breathes; it will tell me where to go
Breeding hate, my lies will never know
I’ll dream again and face the things I fear
They’ll win again and soon I won’t be here
The darkness kills because we hold it near
Collective dreams will speak and force their right
They kill off wrong and force us into night
They’re valiant dreams and dreams of might
I look around and see we think we’re real
In this we sleep and think that life’s a deal
So let’s just sleep and pretend that we can feel
