Drawing Is

Drawing is...

	...essential to my life,
	my need-to-mark work
	to claim,
	touch,
	make visible
	that which exists hidden
	within the thinness
	of a sheet of paper;
	to see rather than merely look,
	my eyes, lodestones
	for edge,
	shadow,
	form,
	position;
	to ingest that which meets my eye,
	then loose it through
	the conduit of my fingers,
	revealing traces in the paper
	of a reality such as
	only I can see.

I taught drawing for almost three decades. I'm convinced that virtually anyone can learn to draw, so long as there's not a need for perfection, that is, don't reject your drawing because it doesn't look exactly like what you are drawing. Everyone sees differently. Look at "Drawing On the Right Side of the Brain." I know about too many hobbies all too well... Jack

In the words of Sherlock Holmes, "You see, but you do not observe."... I am not an artist when it comes to drawing, but I do feel the same when I write. Creating a vision that only I could see... wow! I like how your work steers clear from cliches, and it's strange how I can almost TELL you wrote it, simply because of the style it's written in.

Sherlock was right. It's true every time for me. If I think about t, it turn out crap. I do seem to write in a couple of voices. Maybe a little multiple personality?
