Draw Me Closer

Come closer to me, As I draw ever closer to thee. I draw as close as I can, And eternally draw from you the strength to stand. I grasp at the air, People laugh, but I know you are there! I cry out to you, Searching for the light that will pull me through. When things get too tough for me, I fall to my knees. You reach down your scarred hands and lift me, You pull me to your bosom and ease my soul wrenching screams. You once again take on the pain of my soul, Then place my feet back on the ground, to find my footing like a newborn foal. You call up in me a strength I didn't think I possessed, Showing me once again how much my soul has been blessed. You make my heart grow day by day, Molding me in your image like I am soft clay. I look around at my brothers and sisters and I cry, Because the persecution of them has been a thousand times multiplied. I cling to your fiery brilliance and shine, Hearing you yell to Lucifer, "This one's mine! " I cling to the symbol of your pain and death, And your love for me never fails to take my breath. You conquered the thing of which we are afraid, They laughed at you and shamed you, til they saw your empty grave! So draw me ever closer to you, For You are the Savior that will always pull me through!
