Down the Road'
A winding brown ribbon,
In a sea of green.
This country drive,
Is the nicest I've seen.
Sun on my face,
Wind in my hair;
And a fine, great coating,
Of road dust everywhere.
Mile after mile I drive,
Midst nothing but trees.
Some lovely meadows,
I can occasionally see.
Now I'm into a village,
That's not settled thickly.
A right turn and I'm out of that hamlet,
Just that quickly'
I'm sure where I'm heading,
The directions are known.
My final destination,
Will be my new home.
My map rides besides me,
And I know it's true,
The route I am traveling,
Has seen many others pass through'
And at last when I arrive,
With my travels all done.
I'll be greeted by my Father,
Along side His dear precious Son'
