Down So Deep

ill get through this pain on my own,
with the waves crashing over my head,
and every gasp i take is another drowning breath,
my tears wont sting my eyes, their lost within the cold white-caps,
im standing here drenched and soaked, my feet like concrete slabs,
im shaking in the cold, but i never can get warm,
i feel the flowers dieing, the turn to ash within my heart,
ive lost all i had, and there wasnt much to start,
if i die, there will be no one around to hear my last words,
its very dark down here, darker then the night,
and its not getting any lighter, when i dont have the energy to fight,
im drowning in the ocean, with the waves crashing over my head,
by the time someone finds me, there will be nothing left,
i thought the water felt good, when it swirled around my feet,
i didnt realize that it would suck me in so deep,
and now i cant call out, because theres water in my lungs,
and no one would listen, because they couldnt understand,
but ill get through this pain on my own,
with the waves crashing over my head,
and every gasp i take is another drowning breath.

know this misery all too well. You described it so vivid. To me at least. Sucks that people wont read good poetry UNLESS there are strings attached. I see people playing friends on here commenting . Not really letting the ink do the work. More people need to read and respect poetry. it's our goddamn ART!
