Down and Up

I got lost in a pool of tears.
I was lost for so many years.
I didn't know how to keep from going down.
I finally hit bottom and completely drown.

I got caught up in someone else's mess.
No one to blame, but myself,I guess.
I must have been saved by the grace of God.
But my brain is still soggy and I feel so odd.

I'm back to the surface and I'm breathing fresh air.
Looking back is no place to stare.
But finding my sea legs here on dry land.
I can't help but wonder just where I stand.

The vagueness of my existence.
Leaves so much room for trying to make sense.
Of these empty corners in my mind.
And the love and grace I hope to find.

Just reaching out to touch you Robert and stagger around in the sadness. I need a dose of it every so often and you are king of sorrow! :)

Put on your crown and lose the frown; as night turns to day you will find your way and hopefully it will be gold not brown. Soup mail Robert.

yes, you surely showed what it feels to be down, leaving us with a small hope that you are going to find love and grace!

I hope you find it too. These sorrow poems are right in line with what I love to write about but you put such emotion into them.
