Down

Down...

I am lonely as the sunrise that starts us off each day
As lonely as the sunset that relies on stars to guide the way
As empty as the ageless well that has finally run dry
Nothing left to offer, nothing left to give, but the tears I refuse to cry...

Within myself were all the answers, I’ve realized too late
The fourth mirror of life without reflection, I’ve fallen to the sisters of fate....
How far do you fall once the bottom finally drops from under you
How far will you crawl, how hard will you fight to pull above the surface again…

Now looking for all of the answers in places they’ll never dwell
The good intent that was instilled only led into this hell
My soul we know has already been sold, albeit to the lowest bidder
And in walking away from this life, how much is left to reconsider….

How sad when we walk away from life and hope, it happens all too often, nicely written, thank you for sharing.
