Ann, The doves here think that spring is at least approaching for they sound like they are nesting already. It is only about 4 weeks until spring here in the south but we have had some spring like weather already with trees blooming and some daffodils. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Sandra, There is one that is called a turtle dove that has a ring around its neck and it is a very pale gray and almost looks white. The ground dove is somewhat plain and small but has a beautiful coo. Thanks for your lovely visit. Sara

Darlene, It is wonderful that you feed them some extra so that they have it easier during the cold lean months. They are beautiful and have such a lovely call. Sara

I love doves, there was a family on my windowsill for two years in a row, one little one the first year; two the following year. We watched them birth and learn to fly. The are the loveliest beings. Also pretty amazing is how they weather the cold and early spring winds. Beautiful.

M. L., I do enjoy seeing the birds in winter but I am not as able to put out the seed as I once was so they don't come as much as they did when I put out seeds several times a week. it is amazing how they survive to keep up their species. Thanks for dropping by. Sara
