Double-Masking

The experts say to double-mask
For maximum protection,
But such advice will certainly
Be met with mass rejection.

Since time and time again, I see
When crowds are squashed together,
So many maskless faces,
Birds of such a foolish feather.

At least down in Australia
Where some parts are Covid-free,
The masklessness makes sense to most,
At least to some degree.

But in the clueless U.S.A.,
Still deep in Covid trouble,
The likelihood of masking’s
Very doubtful, much less double.

Hi Ilene! Thank you for poetically expressing the frustrations so many of us are feeling with these idiotic anti-maskers. If it weren’t for them, Covid would have been under control a long time ago. Well rhymes and metered, and great choices of vocabulary. Happy Valentine’s Day!

In a pluralistic society, death by proximity is the price many will pay for ignoring rules that could save their mortality for another day, the fools. Maurice

You've nailed it once again, iliene: 'Mass rejection' is exactly the reaction that's coming -- and not just to double masking. Things are getting a bit ugly here in Chicago now over the continuing restaurant restrictions (25% of capacity) and the S L O W return to school -- high schools not even scheduled yet... Were it not for the Arctic vortex we're in, I think it would boil over soon... We'll see. : gw

Ya got that right, Ilene. It escapes my how some people can be so oblivious and/or ignorant to what they're exposing themselves and others.
