Doors Open

So many doors open before me, infinite options ~ tantalizing me with their connections and concoctions Pathways stretch before me, all roads lead to gold-- Life's at my fingertips ~ I can dare to be bold As selections I make, closing doors once open-- My world tumbles downhill ~ No more wishing and hoping Yet just as I reach the last door that's open, a funny thing happens to keep me from moping-- Each entrance I closed, now like magic ~ reopens, granting new life to my old wishing and hoping

A thoughtful and meaningful poem, Gershon. Hope springs eternal, even through life's ups and downs. As some doors close, other new doors full of possibilities and opportunities and wonderment open.. a beautifully expressed write, my wonderful friend. Congratulations on your excellent win! ~Susan

Yes Gershon, life is unpredictable you never know what’s round the corner.Still we need the experiences for us poets to give us insight and to express in good poems like this.I found it very rhythmical something I particularly liked.

thanks for saying you liked the term poetess. I recall one time a blog here where some poets were upset about females being called poetess. Good grief!

Good grief is right!! People are way, way too touchy, squeamish, and oversensitive today. (Emphasis on the word "too," as sensitivity is a fine trait --- oversensitivity, not so much … Glad you commented on this! :) gw

Reminds me of the saying one door shuts another opens. But an open door is an invitation we're always curious what's inside. Our inquisitive nature I suppose. Tom

Heh, heh -- spot on comment, my friend. "Curiouser and curiouser," ala Alice in Wonderland, I suppose. Best always, Gershon
