Don'T Wake Up the Dog
“Don’t wake up the dog,” she cries
We were born from his dream
And it keeps us alive
As she stays in a wake
Sunset to sunrise
So we stay until he opens his eyes
But delirium lies
In the drugs that she breathes
And the blood she belies
Don’t wake up the dog, not just yet
Well so quiet, she tries
At least to know she’s not ready to die
