Don'T Wake Up the Dog

“Don’t wake up the dog,” she cries We were born from his dream And it keeps us alive As she stays in a wake Sunset to sunrise So we stay until he opens his eyes But delirium lies In the drugs that she breathes And the blood she belies Don’t wake up the dog, not just yet Well so quiet, she tries At least to know she’s not ready to die
