Don'T Try This At Home
Don’t Try This At Home
Happiness is a hard drug
With withdraws so severe
You would sell your soul for suicide
Or some strange luck to appear
And old friend you can’t count on
A new stranger to greet
Life could always be so different
Just by walking down the street
I-27
U-haul
I-phone
U-turn
In time, a smile sags
Gravity forces a face to frown
A grin can turn into regret again
But sadness never lets me down
Rain shining on the highway
Sun pouring through the trees
My way, is my way
I make my path as I please
Please, don’t try this at home
Beginning of the end
If not now, then when
But no matter where I may go
I’ll never forget where I’ve been
While wondering what’s next
Over the horizon
