Don'T Push Bush

DON’T PUSH BUSH

Every ghost knows I am not that strong
Only faces on green know that I am usually wrong
Every predecessor knows that I am too weak
And yet everyone listens whenever I speak

No one knows how I feel when I awake
As if every bone in my body yearns to simultaneously break
The days hurt my body, the night hurts my mind
Because if the truth be known it’s the blind leading the blind

I see millions of faces who depend on me and what I do
While Mrs. Jones weeps at her table as does Mr. Jones too
Junior Jones fought, he bled, and too many others are dead
While states are separated so some are blue and some are red

They hold sticks in front of me that send my voice across the sea
They hold press conferences, press releases but the pressures are just for me
Atlas has a lot in common with the weight which we both share
And the news media is all over me even when I cut my hair

Millions are called upon to serve their country well
What they don’t know is I’m damned and this is worse than going to Hell
For lies are my agenda with red flags which no one ever sees
And it’s a heavy load to know that lives are the cost of my decrees

I stare out a window to see a homeless elderly widow
While every day takes whit but only produces withering woe
The planes, the helicopters and the bombs they tote along
And as I said no one knows the fact that I am not that strong

So these are the facts which we’ve established thus far
Some want all out war while some only want to spar
I cry and lie, cheat and betray every single resident
And that’s why I should never have been elected president
