Don'T Look

If you looked inside my mind
I am afraid what you might find
Brain cells mostly dead
In a confused and troubled head

If you looked inside my heart
It will give you a terrible start
Scars where love did fail
A too oft repeated tale

If you looked inside my soul
You would shiver from the cold
Black spots everywhere
From the gloom and despair

If you looked into my past
You would cry but never laugh
A bumpy and torturous road
Is the story that would unfold

If you looked in a crystal ball
And my future is what you saw
It would show a horrible end
Of a funeral with no friend

So my advice to you
Is to keep on passing through
Beyond the cover of this book
No one should take a look

darkly beautiful, joe... we all have a pained past; what's meaningful is now... a most memorable treat! :) huggs, nette
