Don'T Let Them Take Your Heart

Beware the Cyber pirates!

It had all been about money

He pleaded with me
to give him a chance
said so with his romance
I was the one and only.

He stole my heart
and took it up high
where I could fly
with the meadow larks.

He even proposed
said our love'll be forever
he'd stand by me no matter
I believed his prose.

On the day we were to meet
it suddenly couldn't work
had to fly across the world
work had interfered.

Kept in touch by phone
prayed this sacrifice be earned
and soon a safe return
waiting for the day he'd come home.

Called me one day
Said he was in trouble
could not handle a problem
asked me for monetary aid.

He had known my own impasse
how difficult it had been
and yet plead for money
A cyber pirate he was.

Look out for this guy. It's the old petty con game. I used to know guys who constantly mooched cigarettes, lived on other's toil. This kind of person really cares little for others - sociopathic. Love, dave

Caroline, I sincerely hope this is a fictional write. I met a fellow online once and he claimed to be building an airport in Africa. Said he was a widower from Tampa and looked sooo handsome. Then I got the request for $5,000 for airfare. He said all his wealth was inaccessible in Africa. No way! I sent his photo to a friend and she said, "That's Antonio Banderas." I had been played. Can relate to this poem. Hope it didn't happen to you. Love, Carolyn
