Don'T Hate... Appreciate!!!

Open your eyes
maybe you’ll see,
what I see…
don’t you dare run to me,
looking for a shoulder
to cry on or an ear to listen…

My ears have a tendency
to not want to hear
especially when it comes
to warning signs being ignored,
when they are in your face
and you don’t heed them…

You have a propensity
to walk into closed
doors just to cultivate
sympathy from
people close to you…

I’m done being the
one who runs around
cleaning up your mess
dousing fires started by others,
and then you throw petrol on them
instead of just using water
to extinguish them…

Can’t you see
the path you’re heading down
is one of destruction
for you and the people that love you
don’t you see what I see?
It’s as clear as daylight
you’re like a stranger
in a strange land…

Stop hating me
for showing you the way,
why not appreciate
the fact that I’m trying to help you
something that is clear for
all to see except you…

The stranger in a strange land only seeks love and acceptance. Can't imagine why so many choose hate over love. Well said, Wilma!
