Don'T Cry

I was sitting here last night
and a ring came from my phone
I heard tears of pain from you
then I heard a dial tone

I quickly called you back
and you slowly replied
Why is this happening to me
can someone hear my cry

I began to talk and ask
what is going on
You told me you were beaten
by your man that did you wrong

Rage and anger filled my head
as I heard your tears
Baby please don't worry
please have no fears

You began to tell me the story
on how it all began
How you were tired of his BS
how he's not a man

As you spoke your words
I felt your pain
Defenseless I stood here
going insane

I wish I was there
to dry your eyes
But since your far
baby please don't cry

I'm sorry I'm not there
to take your fears away
But know for sure
I'm always here to stay

I know you want this pain to stop
and the bruises to disappear
As you tell me your pain
I can hear your tears

You say your tired of men
tired of being the best
Tired of holding on
to the pain that fills your chest

You thought you had a man
to me he's just a little boy
He thinks he can grab you
and throw you like a toy

I wish there truly was
something I could do
To help you get out
of the pain your going thru

I wish I was there
to dry your eyes
But since your far
baby please don't cry

Be strong keep your head up
time to get tight
Now be the woman you have never been
time for you to fight

Don't let a man beat you down
don't let him control you
Don't ever let him hit you
or tell you what to do

Show him that you will
not take it anymore
Tell him go to hell
show him the door

I wish I was there
to dry your eyes
But since your far
baby please don't cry
