Don't Be Hasty

Even if a busy road you are to cross in a hurry,
and you see a school bus flashing the red light,
don’t overlook it, be careful and mindfully wary.
It has the right of way, don’t keep it out of sight.

Let the yellow bus pass you by, you need to stop,
the school children on board, it’s for their safety.
You might also be caught by the watchful cop,
out of avoidable hassle you can be not being hasty.

"...it's for their safety." "...not being hasty." You got that exactly right. I so wish more people understood the rules of the road when it comes to school busses. Congrats on your win in my contest.
