Don't be afraid of the Darkness

Don't be afraid of the Darkness
For monsters don't always lurk
The brightest stars can be seen
In the mysteries of this world
For the Light is always there
It's intrinsic to our souls
We were fashioned from stardust
In the Universe's womb
There before the Earth was made
The Darkness came after the Nothing
We were created to achieve balance
For each of us is learning
Don't be afraid of the Darkness
For the Darkness is always alone
It only searches for us for our warmth
Until we are able to learn and grow
The Darkness is part of each creature
It is the will and the power to destroy
To deceive and create anarchy
To be destructive of hope and joy
Balance is what we need to create
In this world and the next
Love and light and understanding
Compassion, grace and friendship
For each soul is on a mission
And each mission helps the Universe
So that the Dark and the Light can be free
And enlightenment of our holiest Heaven
Don't be afraid of the Darkness
For the Darkness is part of Creation
Without Darkness there would be no Light
And we'd miss all those stars of elation
