Donald and Violet

In their mid eighties, they no longer worry about the fashion his biggest worry is will she walk away from the bathtub again she sleeps all day he rides his bike, checks in, now and then but most of the time he just rides with a memory of gumption She has dementia he has courage, atop of that God's grace Donald wears a cardboard square on his chest stuck with scotch tape on it is a hand drawn syringe showing that he has had the vaccine his blue eyes are alert, "my friend made this for me" he's in shape "because I lost the receipt to my second vaccine" I see his gleam She has dementia, he has courage, atop of that God's grace ... "I was at the legion they had a DJ and we purchased some lunch he smiles we listen, "soon you'll need a passport Don, goodluck "Yes I know " he says, then he drives away, scared, I got a hunch Once we were euchre buddies laughing, today just small talk She has dementia he has courage, atop of that God's grace.

Mystic Rose Rose, 'She has dementia he has courage, atop of that God's grace.' Deeply touching telling of those in a slow loss. Beauty still found in the days of an encroaching stranger. -Richard

This is absolutely beautiful, Vienna, even if the subject matter has sadness sprinkled all over it. Old age does not come with many frills, but courage and faith would certainly be appreciated. ~ Warm regards /x/ paul

In old age I am so aware of this illness. Of all the things that can beset us as we age this is the absolute worst. This piece was a poignant write Vie...Delice

Intuitive faith in that one man, and his touch once felt brings you grace. Nicely penned, thank you.

So very well-crafted poem, and lovely. We are all affected by the onset of advanced age. He is a courageous man, as is his spouse, even though they both continue moving. Blessings and hugs

WoW! Such a poignant write. Old age creeps up on us all. He is a brave man and his wife also because they both keep on going. God Bless my friend. Nice of you to keep check on them. JB

We have known this couple for many years Victor, she just keeps getting worse, he seems ok, but I think he has his moments, I pray for them all the time,
