Notes About The Poem

Domesticity

A grey wolf howled at a blood red moon
'bout a sight he would not forget too soon.
His voice rendered empathy and pain
for his poor brother, tied without a chain.
Worse than that - the horror, as all the while
the helpless dog wore a contented smile.

Wonderful poem and a very deserved win. It took a while to domesticate him but he's now our best friend.

Thanks, Pascal - true! I think, like anything else in life, there are both advantages and disadvantages to domestication. Like anything, one must take the good with the bad - lol.
