Doing My Best
I’m doing my best
Trying to move on
I’m tried of being tried to made to feel like an ugly duckling
When in side I know I am a beautiful swan
It’s been years since I was first violated
Yet, no one person has come to my defense
To many miles in between you
To me, the laws meant to protect me, just do not make sense
When someone is allowed to harass day in and day out
To use my photo and legal name as they please
And not even get a slap on the wrist
Not even to feel a pinch or legal squeeze
I feel like I’ve been emotionally raped
And the attacker is still on the loose
And have to see him every single day
And keep right on taking his abuse
