Doing Just Fine

I thought you was the world,
Doing everything in my power,
To make you so very happy,
But soon that went sour,
Soon things started falling,
And we begin to slip away,
And now I sit here thinking,
I'm glad I'm here alone today,
Im doing just fine with out you,
My heart can finally breathe again,
And one day soon I know,
That my heart will finally win,
I thought you was my everything,
Said I would lay down my life,
But in all reality I now know,
You brought nothing but strife,
So yes I am sitting here alone,
But my feet are firmly on the ground,
Even though you are not here,
I'm better off with you not around!!

Sometimes, it is not easy to see how much easier things can be without them, until they are gone and life gets exceedingly easy. You have managed to explain this well in the form of a poem, Justin. Nicely done!
