DOING IT BY THE NUMBERS
9:30 and time for first class
23 students for double math for 80 minutes
Then 15 minute break
430 boys and girls eating
568 choc bars and
Can drink 408 cans of coke
Finish, line up - in 13 straight lines please
Next is Class 5C for Tech Drawing
Lunch 30 minutes – but I check work
Supervision of tables, dinner and mathematical,
Now 6A goes to Room 4B – don’t forget
English – learn 6 lines of Shakespeare’s sonnet
Write 10 lines when you’ve done it
Tired now – need 40 winks
Time for bell o’clock at 4 – thank God
430 uniformed learners leave the gate
Outside the gate dandelions sprawl
In all the cracks in the crumbling wall.
