Dogs Go To Heaven

I am sure that dogs go to Heaven
As sure as my soul shall ascend
For what kind of place would Heaven be
If it didn't take man's best friend?

Now some might say that I'm crazy
For dogs don't even have a soul
But God surely knows that I miss her
And her fate is in His control

She was faithful and loyal just like me
And always followed commands
Just a few things that the Bible says
That we need to enter His hands

A dog has never sinned against Heaven
So there's nothing for them to confess
I wonder if God ever talks to the dogs
For there's nothing that He doesn't bless

I am sure that dogs go to Heaven
And I know that mine's on her way
For yesterday the Vet found a tumor
And we buried her earlier today

I'm sure she's there, my friend. I have three dogs and two cats up there myself. My condolences. Ralph

Yes, she is in heaven right now and you will see her again, Larry. I too had to have a pet put to sleep. And I wrote about it like you are doing with your poem for Bess. Also, I had to give up my dog Ollyver. A few days later he visited me in a dream so real that i almost believe he was coming back to see me on his way toward heaven. I like to think that is what happened! That he actually appeared to me in a vision. Great poem.
