Dog

The dog sat lonely in the dark

Its been here all day, sitting in the park

He came with a man in a large overcoat

Who sat on the bench and studied the tote

The man tied him tight to the bench leg

Then stood and left, that was nearly 10

Its dark now and the man isn't back

The dog is quiet scared of a pending attack

The dawn breaks for him over the hill

A young boy with his Dad called Joe and Bill

They saw the poor dog, tied up and lost

The boy asked the Dad why it was covered in frost

Dad takes off his coat and wraps him up tight

He's warm now and happy, no longer in fright

The bright lights of the surgery cause him to blink

He hears the vet say 'Oh what a stink'

The checks are over and he's found a new home

New bowl, new lead and a juicy bone
