Do You Remember
Do you remember everyone
that you met today
All the ones you passed by,
as you went your way
The strangers on the street
you went walking by
You barely even saw them,
did you even try?
Do you remember all the ones
who helped you out today
The ones who blindly helped you
when you worked and played.
The people at your school,
workplace and your stores
The friends you have yet to meet
and the ones you knew before.
Do you remember
the teachers that you saw today
They interact with your children
in so many ways
It's not just the three R's,
that they do you see
Its making them the people
we want them all to be.
Do you remember your neighbors
that you passed today
They're the ones who make,
your neighborhood so safe.
They watch for those who could hurt you
or the ones you love.
They ask for nothing from you
and for them that's enough
Do you remember all the friends
you talked with today.
They're the ones who help you,
when you're in disarray
They ask for nothing in return
for this precious gift
Yet they are always there
to provide that needed lift.
Do you remember to
remember every single time
Someone passes through
your normal daily life
To not simply pass them
as if you do not see
Any one of them
is a friend to be
