Do You Really Care For God
When I woke up this morning I tried to clear my head
I had a dream so vivid I sat straight up in bed
I dreamed the Lord knocked at my door and as I welcomed him inside
His eyes were red and swollen from all the tears he'd cried
I said Lord what's the matter why are you so sad
You look as though someone has hurt you really bad
He gathered his composure and slowly shook his head
I could feel the pain he bore when unto me he said
My father has a lot of names but his character takes on
Different personalities to make his presence known
He is Jehovah Jirah your needs he will supply
But he can be a begger and so many pass him by
He is Jehovah Shalom who gives you peace within
Yet he can be a widow and he sees once again
People just don't take the time to do the things he asks
Some folks are more contented to hide behind a mask
But when they stand before him on that judgement day
I'm afraid so many people are going to hear him say
I gave you many chances just hoping you would see
The way you treat the down and out is how you're treating me
All those who were needy and lacking on the earth
Are now basking in my glory as I prove to them their worth
