Do you need me today?

Do you need me today
Or shall I stay home
In the warmth of the fire
All orange; aglow

Shall I stay here tonight
Or can I just sleep
In a room, all alone
Where I won't hear a peep

There's always tomorrow
Not just today
Im busy, you see
Living life my own way

All at once you were gone
To a place far away
How I long for the night
How I long for the day

When you were in reach
To hold and to hear
I rue my persistence
Maintaining the distance
And pray that you're near
