They asked And I replied honestly so said “ sometimes but that feeling never lasts” In that moment I gave reassurance that It’s okay at times to feel scared especially when what lies ahead is unknown And reminded them that they may still feel that way sometimes even when one day they will be grown In that moment I didn’t know what else to say and so did my best and provided reassurance in what I thought was the right way I said “Just remember sometimes when you feel sad” All the people who care about you and all the happy times you’ve had Sometimes being small can be frightening and you may become confused by the things that don’t add up And so I continued ..As I watched you sat there silently holding your cup “ I reminded you that when you feel lonely there will always be someone like me who will care And in those moments you feel lonely it’s always good to share “Because sometimes when we can feel that way We need people to listen and brighten up our day” And together can always find a better way “So yes sometimes we all feel lonely but if you need me I’ll be there To keep you safe, hold your hand and remind you there’s people around you who will always care”
