Do They Know

I look at you and wonder, I wonder if they know, If they look beyond the show, the ponytail afro, the tatts, the kicks, the cloud of smoke, the smile, the eyes, the jawline, the stroke, do they see you beyond the thoughts you provoke... ummmm I wonder....do they really know. How big your heart is, how awesome you are, a good friend, a good man, a rock, a star, Genuine, unique, a man apart, right from the start, you're book and street smart. A dope human being, Im proud of you son, high-five ya mom and step-dad, on a job well done! You might think it's too much, like I'm putting it on thick, but I promise you son, I keep it real, I keep it lit, not riding yo ish, not built that way, shoot from the hip, the only way I play, so remember this day, you inspired me kid, you win, so I write, and dust off my pen. You give me hope, the future is not lost, the youth has promise, you shine like a boss. I see you, see me, with you I'm myself, can't be captured by a camera, or measured by wealth. you go out your way to help others, even stop what your doing, to lend a hand to those in need when no one's looking, so glad that I know you, an individual so true, so glad that I know, if they only knew. You're the type of guy that turns the greatest into a fan, yes I'm the president, and you are the man, You're the type of friend you answer for in the middle of the night, ride or die type of friend, yea you got that right, and if you ever ask the question, the answer is freakin right!! Alll day, afternoon, and all night!!!! For some lucky girl, you're a dream come true, Not perfect, but solid, dependable, that's you. If they only saw the layers, or the levels that I do, if they only knew, or had a freakin clue.....
