Do Not Tell Dad

He has tattoos she told her mom
Don’t tell Dad, dad would be mad
He has a big hog that he rides on
Don’t tell Grams, but he is a cad.

Her Mom had been a bad-boy’s girl too
She kept her mouth shut for little Lou
Big bad boyfriend finally came around
Wearing a spiked helmet, his ears so brown

He is a dog! Her grandma said
He is a hound! added her daddy Ned
I never said he was anything else, said the daughter
She rode out into the sun with her puppy dog, Trotter.
