Do Not Judge Me

Do not judge me, you have not walked in my shoes
Do not judge me, you know not 'the why' or the reason I chose,
This path I took , the decisions I made, did not come easy,
and I was oft afraid.
Much I regret, but can do nothing about,
others I am thankful for, I have no doubt.
The hand of Fate can be cruel or kind,
and often the choices are a test for the mind.
One path can look welcome , with many friends,
the other , quite lonely and with unseen bends .

But sometimes friends are not always true,
they can turn their coats and lose interest in you.
Offtimes the path that you took as a duty
, can reveal a vista of astonishing beauty.
But chose one we must before our life is through
and live with the consequences , of which we may rue.

I am quite surprised at the lovely response my poem has received. I have written another in the same vein, both have been inspired by the poem of which path to chose, also of a IMO not very good film LaLaLand was filmed. I will put it on. But many thanks for your very kind remarks.

Thank you very much Caren Krutsinger for liking and making such kind remarks about my poem I am so pleased as I didn't think for one minute that it would be appreciated in any way from anyone in this group. I must check out yours I bet they will be beautiful. Thank you again, . My poetry does tend to be a little bit on the sad side. I have just put another.

This is a beautiful first write for Poetry Soup. I hope we see more. "One path can look welcome , with many friends, the other , quite lonely and with unseen bends" - so lovely, well done indeed!
