Do it all Again

I drink of your company
I dine on your laughter
I bathe in your kisses
and glow ever after

You fuel me, my darling
we are a force divine
And I believe this love of ours
will outlast the tests of time

Dance with me at dinner
split dessert and make me smile
Drive me to the lookout
let’s go watch the moon rise

Tell me about the books you’ve read
and houses you have made
The projects that still call your name
the foundations you have laid

And I will share my day with you
the little things life did
What silly thing the pets pulled off
how the neighbor children hid
behind the fort they built again
like kings of cardboard dreams
And we will laugh like love’s still new
though older now we seem

We will talk for hours
two grown souls absorbed in us
Holding hands like children do
to life we’ll raise a toast
Then head on home
and head to bed
with nothing left to mend
And do it all together, love
the very next day again

And I will bring my day to you
all its odd and tender things
The mischief of the animals
the joy the evening brings
And we will laugh like fools in love
still dazzled by the spark
Two grown hearts with young hands
walking brightly through the dark

Ohhhh ohhhhh

Not every love is thunder
not every fire must burn
Some are made of quiet joys
and all the small returns
A table, talk, a moonlit drive
a hand I know is mine
A thousand simple moments
making something so divine

Dance with me at dinner

I’ll tell you everything
