Do I Love You

I think of you with nearly every passing thought.
When I talk to you, my words always get caught.
I enjoy every minute I get to spend with you.
I know I like you, and you do too.
But do I love you?

I long for us to be together,
To be as close as two birds of a feather.
I want to be with you, in pain or in joy,
I want to laugh with you, to make fun and annoy.
But do I love you?

I don’t really know the meaning of love.
Are you like an angel, sent from above?
Or is your heart filled all up with lead?
Is all of this just a scene in my head?
Do I love you?

I want to say the answer is yes.
But if I tell you, would you think any less?
How can tell you the way that I feel,
If I’m not even sure that these feelings are real?
Do I love you?
