Dixie Bird

Dixie was a little bird
Who flew from tree to tree.
With bright blue eyes
And feathers gold
She was a site to see.

From tree to tree
And branch to branch
She flew around all day
The song she sang was always
Lively, bright and gay.

One day Dixie met her mate
While flying 'round the trees.
A beautiful male with red feathers so bright
It all but brought her to her knees.

And so their love began and it was plain to see
By all the orange feathered birds that could be
seen, singing in the trees.
