Diving For Oranges

I was seething with anger
as I spread my arms and watched the serpent grow around my waist
I had a taste for oranges
And I leaned forward into the grove
that seemed to magically grow closer
The breeze seemed strange as I flew though the air
I saw a blurry, green carpet just before
a heavy thud closed the door of my body, and turned out the lights.
