Distractions'

Distractions, distractions, are life's way,
To interrupt our thoughts throughout the day.
We live in a fast pace world.
As events unfold, we are in turmoil.

Why does that have to be?
Why do we look, and not really see?
Well my guess its just the Trickster,
Because the devil in his world, is a petty fixer.

Distractions, sports games, family, errands, whatever,
Take us off course, forgetting our sisters and brothers.
All have bills, worries and regrets
But we should have faith in God, and never forget.

When we think all is against us,
Trust in Our Father, and his son Jesus.
If it is Gods will, distractions will be gone,
The trickster, will be shut out, where he doesn't belong.

The gift that Jesus gave us a long time ago,
Is the real story here, because He love us so.
The greatest gift given to us was from the Father, a gift to humanity,
To allow us to live in His Kingdom, distractions gone, a new community.

How perceptive of you Robert! you have touched on a premise of mine that the very fast paced life we live is a deliberate ploy of (satan) or call it what you will, a very negative force even! i emailed another poet on the soup on this some time back they say the devil makes work for idle hands, however if people are so debt laden and target driven when will they be able to contemplate God Jesus or the value of familiy?

Hi there, thanks a million for your comment, i appreciate it Bro. U know life is so simple and with the believe in Jesus Christ then life becomes simpler, but people in other to live according to the Jones made the world difficult. There are so much selfishness and wickedness in the world we are living in.

this poem you wrote is so true, if only the rest of the world would do what the bible teaches, the world's problems are not that big of a deal if we would listen to God and do what Jesus said to do. Man would rather please himself than to heed to God's word. I really enjoyed this one. thank you for reading my little girl grown and for your comment.

It would be wonderful if we could all learn to live without some of the distractions your describe, Robert. They do take us off focus from the goals our Father has for us. I pray for humanity and world peace every day. Love, Carolyn

Beautiful reflection on the Love of God and on the trickery of the evil one. There truly is a battle going on. Good to know...in the end, God wins!! Love your writing! Ellen
