Distant Memories

Distant memories cahoots into night
As slumber, she tries to festoon me.
Voices of my distant past, they get bright,
loved and dear ones of past come up for me to see.

Sometimes can clearly hear them call
Is this real or just another dream?
Just feel through the tunnel I reel & fall
And the noises shrill fill up the night with screams.

I repent for having given,
Such a wee bit to mend & resolve
I know in this life have been forgiven
But some mysteries have been left for me this life to solve.

As life she carries on..
I keep pursuing my dreams
Young years are past & gone
Noises that linger are more than shrill screams

The screams they pierce
My brooding heart
As my thoughts grow bold & fierce
Random choked memories don’t depart

Distant memories still cahoots into the nights
As slumber, she tries to festoon me.
Voices of my distant past, they get bright,
loved and dear ones of past come up for me to see.
