Distant Lover

every rock shall be struck
        all obstructions demolished
bear foot i will cross the burning deserts
with my back against the odds
going against blowing wind i will find my way
my way to your strong arms

you are from the east oh my love
        i am from the south
and our love is from our warm heats
        i can wait no further
to feel the warmth of your embrace

missing you is a heart ache
a pain that will never go away
loving you is a life time pledge
        failure to meet you
i would have fought a losing battle
in your embrace i could last forever
