Distances

There are distances in geography and distances in time
There are distances between two truths – there is hers and there is mine
We can tell our stories about an event that happened to occur
But the facts inside the tales we tell simply do not concur

Neither one of us means to lie or to come across unfair
We simply had different experiences even though we both were there
So, you decide whom you choose to believe or which side you wish to take
But both of us are wrong and right – of that make no mistake

Because we don’t want the distances of geography or time
To come in between us, a compromise we must find
And thus we close our distances at the end of every day
So no distance between us at night ever gets into the way

This is very good. At bed time - no distance should keep you apart. Thanks for sharing. Lucilla

Very true. We each have our own view and individual perspective on things. But your right, we shouldn't allow it come between people. Well put. Em :)

a good way to show he said/she said, Joe. I enjoyed this one and how you resolve it in the last stanza.
