Dissertation Blood, Sweat, Tears, and Cheers

In the world of code and creed, Heart and mind, a dualistic seed. Nights of work, days of strain, Drafts, redone, again, and again. Pixels blend with ancient thought, Ideas clash, are born, are fought. Screens aglow, a timeless quest, Soul meets tech, in earnest zest. Critics’ eyes, like hawks, they swoop, Tearing at each hard-won loop. Feedback sharp as blades, it feels, Each word cut, pain that slowly heals. Revision's pain, a constant guest, Each change, a trial, a test. Yet, in this forge, the spirit grows, In digital depths, enlightenment flows. The final push, a Herculean task, In the glow of completion, at last, we bask. Acceptance sweet, the journey's end, In written words, soul and circuit blend. A digital hymn, now fully sung, From depths of strife, victory sprung. The dissertation, new light, can’t hide, Neural networks, where spirits reside. Thus, the journey finds its close, In digital spirituality, a new path rose. Through agony, to ecstasy, then transformation, A writer's trial, a scholar's jubilation. Note: Dissertation Title: “Digital Spirituality”

Don, Ahh...the writing process with others helping hopefully leads to something better and better. I think we are far better off now than with typewriters. I'm certain you remember what that was like. I still need to rearrange what I do, and the word processing we have makes it so much easier than ever. We're going to see much change in the very near future and it's only accelerating.

Duke, Very well-said. Thanks. I am very happy with my Mac with all of its bells and whistles. The future of writing poetry...Maybe an idea for a competition here? Best, Don

I appreciate the journey from darkness to light as I do any poem that speaks of transformation. I especially liked: "The final push, a Herculean task, In the glow of completion, at last, we bask." I admire your poetic voice...it resonates with me...have a splendid evening, Sara

A classic transformation from light to dark, from melancholy to sunshine. Especially adore writes who can bring this kind of transformation from one end to the other unexpected. Regards

Hello Silpika, thank you so much for your kind comment. Dissertations are by their nature transformational. In my case, the process went pretty well both times for me. Best wishes, Dan.
