Disrobing Ego
“ I’m the greatest I’m the best ”
“ I look down upon the rest “
“ My ability is forever unmatched “
“ To my charisma the whole world is attached “
“ No mountain may block my path “
“ No ocean too wide for me “
“ Anyone who objects shall face my wrath “
“ For I am mightier than the sea! “
You make me laugh
For we all are thinking
What makes you so great?
Who died and made you king?
Self confidence is one thing
And ego is another
But you created your own
For your ego levels are like no other
You score high on a test
And suddenly your the best?
You ride a bike and don’t fall
Then its winner winner take it all?
What puts you above the world
No body knows
Yet your confidence
Only ever grows
So reality check my friend
For simply you see-
That your are not all that
You think you may be
You realize that in yourself
You lack qualities which you require
So now you try to compensate
For whatever you don’t have but desire
Maybe you’re not funny
Or people just think you’re weird
Or maybe you’re not the smartest
Or maybe you wish to be the one being cheered
Whatever it is you lack
Its clear as the light of day
And i promise you that building ego
Doesn’t help in any way
Push aside the facade
The defense, the masks, the walls
And inside is a scared soul
Who fears their personality, too short it falls
From the ‘norm’ or the way one ‘should’ be
And that scares more than you’d like to admit
So cover with ego and hence let no one see
Lets say.. The lack of humor or lack of wit
So every person who boasts
Here’s my message to you
You don’t have to compensate who you are
Just be and stay true
Now on the other hand and some people
Just think they’re so great
Like life is worshipping them
Their future is an amazing fate
To you I have no words
For I’m at a loss for what to say
So to leave you now I finish with
I hope such people turn better some day
