Disguises
It is such a weary task
To know what’s underneath the mask
Of people that’s trying to hide
Their true self buried deep inside
You try to figure out the truth
But sometimes there is just no use
Hoping to find someway through
The person looking back at you
It is hard to crack their shell
Maybe something bad befell
On their lifetime so they just
Don’t have an ounce of single trust
Left in their heart for them to share
With others they meet everywhere
Most people in this population
Have trials and tribulations
Allowing each of us one day
To use a mask in the same way
