Discovery
So in objective lessons tell me again
No more, for I found what I lost before
The rain has touched the barren grain
And new life tumult in the swollen spore
Take your cities, your laws, your banks
I sell them for time alone to spend
With one whom above all blessing ranks
And one for whom the days contend
The pearl of great price explained he to us
Is the quest that life driven pursues
Love not knowing it sets it for its purpose
I give all else, since this I so choose.
And you alive and well, o pity my fears
I tried to make my pearl with salt tears
To see it sparkle and lighten my cares
But heaven's is better, nothing compares.
