Disappointments

Disappointments Life is full of disappointments But there should be no reason for a lack of cheer, Good things also happen To uplift and make our happiness clear. Good friends and their loyalty Are precious to be sure. So we can forget the disloyal ones, whose promises are just a lure. Yes, there are those who may use us, And then quickly say good-bye. But thank God there are the others, Who stick with us in the bye and bye. Disappointments are a part of life— They’re the valleys that run low, But the mountain top experiences Make up for all the sludge below. Even good friends sometimes disappoint us— It’s just part of what happens here. Sometimes our expectations Are just too hard for them to bear. Thank God that the mountain tops Are sufficient to keep us happy. Too many lows are unhealthy; We can’t stay too long in the valley. So just accept your disappointments, As commonplace for us all! No-one’s life is perfect; Disappointments on all of us call. Be thankful for the happy times And the joy that they bring; When you’re on that mountain top experience, Get out your guitar and sing!
