Dirty Words

Fractured sounds pierce the icy air,
polluting the fragile inner ears.
Human kind slowly becomes immune
to each dirty word man hears.
Painted lips harden from repeated use
of harsh words released by angry hearts.
These cursed sounds send shock waves
through the soul's inner glass parts.
Tainted mouths quickly grow numb
from the burning taste of the tongue's litter.
This escaping human steam leaves
a mortal's breath cold and bitter.
