Dirty Feet

Dirty feet from this land Dirty feet from walking in the sand Dirty feet from the struggles of my sisters and brothers and the wetness from the tears of all these strong black mothers Dirty feet from the mud and mortar of the slave men Dirty feet from the work of Adam and Eve's sin Dirty feet from Samson's fall to the dame named Delilah These strong men fall down when we suppose to go higher and higher Our people have this history of dirty feet But learn from it why live in it? We have a choice and have to fight so fight to win it I'm not going back to where my people come from I wash my dirty feet and stand on my own.
